Hello, Shannon Ashley!

I am surprised no one asked about this so please allow me to step in. I’m a journalist by trade so human dignity is quite a thorny topic in my profession, which is regulated by strict codes of conduct all practitioners have to abide by. Often, such codes are referred to as “deontology” or simply “ethics”.

In the interest of full disclosure, can you tell us readers whether you sought and obtained your mother’s permission before publishing such intimate pictures?

To the unsuspecting onlooker, this looks like a potential invasion of privacy which would go against Medium Rules that clearly state — under the Privacy and Reputation section — that “we do not allow […] Posting intimate or explicit images taken or posted without the subject’s express consent.”

To rephrase, has your mother allowed you to publish and monetize pictures of herself or not?

If you do indeed have your mother’s permission then it may be a good idea to make this clear in your piece to avoid further misunderstandings.
