Meditation doesn’t always involve sitting cross-legged on a cutesy cushion in front of an altar, Emily Kate. I love the slug metaphor, and it speaks to me.
In times of extreme distress, I tend to space out regardless of where I might be or what position I might be in at the time. My brain activates the off switch on its own, and that’s quite helpful even though it can confuse people. It’s like a quick reboot, and also akin to meditation. I observe every thought but no longer react.
I’ll never look at slugs the same way again now, thanks to you.
