Thanks for your feedback, Kurt! Actually now’s a good time to tell you how much your work has helped me throw caution to the wind and be more open and willing to try new things.
I think disruption is an important part of creativity but my ways with it are still very tame. For example, I put out a half-dozen of very angry poem-shaped texts yesterday and immediately wanted to go and delete everything.
I didn’t — still don’t —feel confident they have the power to resonate with anyone, mainly because they’re rather antagonistic, a pithy extension of my vocal politics writing.
And guess what? I left them there, if only to be able to say: “Hi, my name is Kitty and I once wrote a poem called Cat Rectum on the internet.” The current political situation in the US will make you do bizarre things I guess…
