Thanks for your kinds words, Stephanie Portell, and I’m glad mine resonated with you. As we used to say in England, “it’s the keeping going that keeps you going.” I nearly packed it all in at the weekend and wasn’t in the sunniest state of mind when I wrote this piece, or even the one that followed.
But I forced myself to write them, and the response has been unprecedented, very humbling as well as hugely encouraging.
So whenever you feel ready to give up, please don’t. Just try and push through the discomfort without worrying too much about what comes out of it. Then put it out there and see what sticks. It may or it may not, but at least you’ll have come through the other side.
There’ll likely be pain regardless. Payback for doing this is a massive migraine but, hey, migraine happens. Hang in there!
