This is hard-earned wisdom, too, and while I was sorry to read about your ordeal I’m glad to read you’re now looking after yourself. This is a difficult skill to develop and one I haven’t mastered yet.
Right now, I’m in France to support my father as my stepmom undergoes further treatment for Stage IV cancer. I arrived on Dec 28 and am staying until the end of March.
The idea is to use this time to figure out how to spend a year between the US and the EU. I need to find a base (can’t stay with family forever, it’s an impossible situation) as well as some work to keep me going while being able to be as responsive as needed.
So there’s a lot to think about and do and organize…
