The fact that you wonder makes me doubt that you’re like this, Robin Klammer.

My mom has a tendency to see everything as grim but she’s completely unaware of it until it’s pointed out to her. And then she denies it, and then we talk about it, and then she goes “Hmmm, you may have a point.”

It’s a mentally exhausting situation but if I make a conscious effort to nudge her gently, she eventually snaps out of it for a bit.
