Your approach is a sound one, albeit unusual in a country where there’s a TV outlet (and often a TV) in every room.
When I was a kid, TV viewing was strictly rationed. Fast forward to now and both my father and mother (who divorced when I was little) pretty much have the TV on all day.
And I, my friend, am living in hell, with my headphones permanently in unless I’m in bed or under the shower so I can tune out the garbage, write, read, function.
Yes, this is France. Just as bad as America in many respects. Although production standards are higher here, there’s an endless appetite for US-produced garbage…
I won’t lie, this way of life is crushing me — I feel trapped.
